Sietsema Farms Feeds

Operation Description:
Turkey Grower
1.5 million birds, five separate farm sites
Feed Mill produces feed for turkeys and swine

Project Status: Planned completion in Summer 2009

Project Description: Gasification, Electricity Generation, Heat & Steam

This project is a gasification facility that will convert the litter from 1.5 million turkeys
to steam and electric energy, replacing purchased natural gas and electricity at
their feed pelleting mill.
System has advanced two-stage gasification for very low emissions.
System has advanced ceramic heat exchanger for high energy recovery to replace
natural gas.
First use of air turbine generator for electricity.
