Project Description: Anaerobic Digestion & Electricity Generation
- The project incorporates a three-tank AD system (tanks 85' diameter), two 800kW gensets and equipment for downstream processing of separated digestate liquid.
- A heat exchanger collects waste heat from the generators for heating the AD tanks.
- The renewable energy production provides on-site electrical power as well as
excess power for sale to the local utility grid.
- The site has successfully completed the transition from sand to biofiber bedding.
- Biogas is used for on-site boilers.
- Partial funding for this project was provided by a USDA grant award.
